From measurement to alert — without your involvement

The sensor measures, the gateway forwards, the cloud analyses, and you get notified exactly when something needs your attention. That is the path every measurement takes in Nextriv — no cabling, no servers of your own and no IT department.

The measurement path: five links, zero maintenance

Every link in the chain works automatically. You only look at the result.

Sensor

Measures temperature, humidity and other parameters. Battery powered, communicates over radio (long-range radio) — no cables, no Wi-Fi.

Gateway

Receives the radio signal from sensors across your site and forwards measurements to the cloud over the internet.

Nextriv cloud

Stores every measurement, checks it against alert thresholds and prepares the data for charts and reports.

Dashboard

Live charts, KPIs and device statuses — in the browser, on desktop and mobile.

Alerts

A threshold breach triggers notifications: email, SMS, web push, Teams, Discord or an in-app sound alarm — with escalation if nobody reacts.

Up and running in 3 steps

A new sensor needs no installer and no technical configuration. All it takes is the number on the label.

  1. 1. Copy the DevEUI number

Every sensor has a unique DevEUI number on its label. You type it into the app — the only “technical” step in the whole process.

  2. 2. Assign a place

You choose where the sensor works: location, room, dashboard. The system recognises the device model from the first data it sends.

  3. 3. Watch the data arrive

The sensor joins the network automatically — typically within 30–180 seconds. From that moment measurements appear on the dashboard in real time.

The system also reads device metadata — battery level, reporting interval, time zone — and keeps it up to date on its own (including daylight saving time changes).

What happens to your data

Measurements do not end up in one big pile. The system organises them so a full-year chart opens as fast as the last 24 hours, and the complete history is always at hand — for an audit, a claim or an analysis.

Aggregation that matches the chart

Data is automatically aggregated at 1 min / 5 min / 1 h / 1 day intervals. The system picks the right resolution for the range you are viewing — an hour and a full year load equally smoothly.

Full history without archiving

Data from months and years back stays fully available for analysis, charts and reports — nothing to archive, move or restore from backups.

Retention under control

Raw measurements are kept for a full year free of charge, and for up to 5 years (1,825 days). Reports and notifications have their own separate retention periods.

Your data, always portable

Export measurements to XLSX and CSV, download reports as PDF. No closed formats — the data belongs to you.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need cabling or Wi-Fi at the measurement points?

No. The sensors are battery powered and communicate with the gateway over radio using long-range radio — a protocol designed for long-range transmission with minimal energy use. Only the gateway needs internet access.

How long does it take to add a new sensor?

A few minutes. You enter the DevEUI number from the label, assign the sensor to a location, and the device joins the network automatically — typically within 30–180 seconds. The sensor model is recognised automatically from its first data.

How will I know a sensor has stopped reporting?

The system constantly monitors connectivity: a sensor is marked offline when it stays silent for twice its reporting interval, and a gateway after 15 minutes of silence. Statuses and the list of offline devices are visible right on the dashboard.

How long is the data stored?

Raw measurements: a full year already on the free plan, and up to 1,825 days (5 years). Reports up to 365 days, notifications up to 90 days. The full retention table is on the Security page.

Can I show the data to someone without an account?

Yes. Public tiles are a read-only view available via a tokenised link — no login required. You choose which sensors and metrics to show, optionally with a 24-hour chart; the link can also expire automatically after a set time.
