HACCP and temperature monitoring for food service
Sensors in cold rooms, counters and freezers measure temperature around the clock, alert you before stock is lost and build a digital HACCP log ready for any inspection.

Sound familiar?
Paper HACCP logs
Someone walks the fridges three times a day with a notebook — and in high season values get written from memory. Gaps in the log only surface during an inspection.
Cold room failure at night or on weekends
The compressor stops at 2 a.m. on Saturday and you find thawed stock on Monday morning. Losses run into thousands plus ruined deliveries.
Leaks and flooding in the back of house
Condensate from the compressor, a leaky dishwasher, a cracked hose — water under equipment can quietly damage the back of house for months before anyone notices.
Sanitary inspection without complete records
The inspector asks for temperature history from recent weeks and you dig through drawers for notebooks. Missing entries mean remarks in the report and a stressed shift.
How Nextriv solves it
Automatic measurement, no rounds
Sensors measure temperature and humidity every few minutes, 24/7. The Probe Solo and Sense Essential data loggers are EN 12830 certified for the cold chain.
Four thresholds and multi-channel alerts
Each metric gets warning and critical thresholds (e.g. 5 °C and 8 °C for a 2–4 °C fridge). Alerts go out via email, SMS, web push, Teams or Discord.
Daily signed log for inspectors
Scheduled PDF reports generate a daily temperature log with an SHA-256 signature and a QR verification code — ready to hand over.
Measure the product, not the air
A probe in a thermal buffer mirrors the temperature of the food rather than the air — no more false alarms every time the fridge door opens.
Leaks caught at the first drops
Sense Leak Spot alarms at roughly 5 mm of liquid at the probe — under the compressor, dishwasher or water supply — and also measures ambient temperature and humidity.
Measurement history without gaps
Sensors buffer readings locally and retransmit them after a connectivity outage. Raw measurement history is kept for up to 5 years.
Recommended products
Nextriv hardware picked for this industry — up and running with the platform in minutes.

Nextriv Probe Solo
An EN 12830 certified logger with a detachable probe on a cable — for fridges, counters and cold rooms. A 4000-reading buffer backfills data after outages.

Nextriv Probe Food
A food-grade 316 stainless steel spike probe measures the temperature inside stored products and raw materials — not just the air around them.

This is how a real Nextriv rule works: four thresholds per metric, an event with a unique ALM code and an escalation that won't let go until someone acknowledges the alarm.
- If
The sensor in the cold room reports 6.2 °C — the temperature crosses the 5 °C warning threshold set in the rule.
- Then
The platform opens an event with an ALM code and immediately sends a web push and an email to the shift manager.
- Escalation 1
After 10 minutes without acknowledgement, the escalation sends an SMS to the shift manager and the venue manager.
- Escalation 2
When the temperature crosses the 8 °C critical threshold, the event escalates to critical severity and an SMS plus an in-app siren reach the owner — until it is acknowledged and resolved.
Compliance and standards
HACCP
Continuous temperature records at control points, alarm thresholds and full event history support HACCP documentation — without manual checklists.
EN 12830
The Nextriv Probe Solo, Sense Essential and Sense Industrial loggers are EN 12830 certified — the standard for temperature recorders in food transport and storage.
Sanitary inspections
PDF reports with an SHA-256 signature and a QR verification code give you a credible, ready-to-show temperature log for every inspection.
Frequently asked questions
Can Nextriv replace the paper HACCP temperature log?
Yes. Sensors measure automatically every few minutes and the platform keeps raw history for up to 5 years. A schedule generates a daily or weekly PDF report with an SHA-256 signature and a QR code — a digital equivalent of the HACCP notebook, just without gaps and without rounds.
What happens when the internet or power goes down?
Sensors buffer readings locally (e.g. Probe Solo up to 4000 entries) and retransmit them once connectivity returns, so the history has no gaps. The platform also detects offline devices on its own: a gateway after 15 minutes of silence, a sensor after twice its reporting interval — and can notify you just like for a temperature breach.
How do I avoid false alarms every time the fridge door opens?
Two mechanisms: the Probe Solo probe placed in a thermal buffer mirrors product temperature rather than air, so briefly opening the door doesn't trigger an alarm. On top of that, every metric has four thresholds — separate warning and critical ones — so a momentary swing produces at most a warning, not a critical alarm.
How much does temperature monitoring cost in a restaurant?
Starting is free: the FREE plan includes 10 sensors, 1 gateway, 5 alert rules and PDF reports — often enough for a small venue. The PRO plan (PLN 99 net per 30 days or PLN 990 net per year) adds notification escalations, signed scheduled reports and 5 years of history, among others.
Do the sensors need wiring in the kitchen?
No. The sensors run on batteries (lasting years on a single set), communicate over long-range radio with a single gateway and are configured with a phone via NFC. Mounting is tape, screws or magnetic variants — no electrician and no interference with refrigeration equipment.
