What it's for

Most temperature sensors give up right where real industry begins. Electronics won't go inside a furnace, won't survive a blast freezer, won't endure years of vibration on a machine frame. Nextriv Probe PT100 was built precisely for those places: the measuring tip is a probe with a platinum sensing element — the material that has been the industrial benchmark of thermal stability for decades — while the electronics and radio sit in a separate, sealed transmitter, connected by cable and mounted somewhere safe.

This is a device for maintenance teams, process engineers and lab technicians who need rigorous accuracy in conditions where an "ordinary sensor" has no business being: from −200 °C in cryogenic applications to +800 °C in high-temperature processes. Instead of running signal cables across the hall and installing transducer cabinets, you need one point: the probe in a measurement port, the transmitter on a wall or DIN rail, and the data in the Nextriv platform over long-range radio.

The distinguishing feature is mundane but decisive: one device, four factory range variants and the option of ordering a probe tailored to your process — tip type, cable length, any range within the full −200…+800 °C span. You buy a measurement made for your process, not a compromise from a catalogue.

The probe's 3-wire connection eliminates the error caused by cable resistance, and ±0.5 °C accuracy with 0.1 °C resolution is enough both for safety supervision and for documenting process runs. The transmitter withstands UV, vibration and full humidity, and the battery lasts a decade of typical operation — you install the sensor once and come back only to change the battery.

Use cases

  • Industrial boiler room: a probe in the boiler's thermowell reports temperature every few minutes, and an alarm threshold catches overheating before the mechanical safety device trips. Zero signal cabling across the boiler room.
  • Hardening shop / heat treatment: the +800 °C variant monitors furnace zones where a sensor with electronics in the head would not survive. The process engineer gets a chart of the entire heating cycle, and any deviation from the profile is an immediate alert.
  • Deep freezer and blast tunnel: the −200 °C variant watches over deep-freeze chambers. The transmitter hangs outside the chamber, in the warmth — the battery works for years despite the extreme temperatures of the measurement itself.
  • Laboratory / R&D: 0.1 °C resolution and the stability of platinum allow you to document experiment runs and validate test chambers — with a measurement history no one has to write down by hand.
  • Machinery and drives: a probe on a bearing or gearbox housing detects a rising temperature trend weeks before a failure. The vibration-resistant design tolerates mounting directly on running equipment.
  • Dairy and thermal processes in food production: temperature control in process tanks and pasteurisation lines, with automatic history logging — ready-made evidence for a quality audit.

Key features

  • Probe with a platinum sensing element in a 3-wire connection — measurement immune to cable-resistance error; ±0.5 °C accuracy, 0.1 °C resolution.
  • Four factory range variants (−200…+50 / −50…+200 / −50…+500 / −50…+800 °C) + custom probes made to order (tip type, cable length).
  • Measurement separated from electronics: the probe works in extreme conditions, the transmitter in a safe spot (1.5 m cable, configurable).
  • IP67 transmitter, UV- and vibration-resistant — for halls, boiler rooms and outdoor installations.
  • Up to 10 years on a single replaceable high-capacity battery.
  • Configuration via NFC from a phone — no opening the enclosure, no service cables.
  • Local buffer of approx. 1000 readings with automatic retransmission after a connectivity outage — a history without gaps.
  • Alarm thresholds with an immediate report outside the regular reporting rhythm.
  • Three transmitter mounting options: wall, post/pipe (straps), DIN rail (optional bracket).

In the Nextriv system

Four thresholds per metric map the full process logic: warning bands for the process engineer and critical ones for maintenance, with notifications via e-mail, SMS, push, Microsoft Teams or Discord; the webhooks integration forwards events to your maintenance system. Escalations make sure an unacknowledged alarm goes up the chain, while event statuses and comments build an intervention log.

The platform also keeps a calibration registry: date of the last calibration, the next due date, certificate and notes, with reminders — for measurements that end up in quality documentation, that kind of order is hard to overstate. Trend charts, PDF reports and XLSX/CSV exports turn readings into process runs ready for analysis and audit.
